The reality of this product is much more impressive than the words written about it. If you've ever ruined a folding ruler, buy yourself one of these and you'll feel better about it forever. This design is how it should be done. Truly remarkable engineering design and manufacture!!!

I use the project for field work. Regularly gets dirty and wet. Has no effect on the function of the ruler.

Also jumped to this brand after breaking the wooden folding rulers as well. I never have to feel bad after dropping them into a Louisiana swamp because--unlike the wooden rulers--they dont swell with water and split. In a pinch they make great "scaffolds" for supporting sign boards and other things--it's almost like another set of hands.

Switched to this brand after going through countless wooden rulers at our well construction sites. I've been using the same one for two years now (and am back to buy a second one for another crew). I've even left it outside in the Florida sun and rain for months and it still functions like new. Can't recommend these enough!

Fantastic measuring rule. We were using the traditional wood rule for our wetland delineation work and always breaking them. After using this rule for over 2 years haven't broken one yet.
